Long Story Short demo #10 – “The Flash Point”

Moving along through Act II of our little love story: although they are legally separated, CHARLES has been surreptitiously coming in to HOPE’s apartment when she’s gone and watering the plants. He wants to be in their room, though he knows it’s probably a bad idea…and he finds himself irresistibly drawn back, time after time.

    Wow!… I’m speechless… Fantastic!
I’m sure hoping this story has a happy ending. Great job!

OK, so I admit that I’ve got the sort of musical brain that always finds snippets of one piece embedded in something else but, given the lyrics to this one, I have to ask, Brendan: are the little allusions to Love Is The Perfect Crime (specifically, your arrangement of that song) intentional? :-)

Aw heck. I didn’t see the connection between “The Perfect Crime” and this. But yeah, you got me–they’re there. It’s hard to stop using the same set of watercolors when you have ones you like–and all the major 9′s and sus 2′s that Jonatha Brooke used in her song are sounds we latched on to, and tried to make our own.
But no, David. It wasn’t intentional. :)
And yep, Ed–it’s got a happy ending–you just need to get there first. You gonna make it to Pittsburgh to see the show?
