Holy Video Collections, Batman…

Rob Bond, the leader of our Petal Pusher Program, has Gone. To. Town.

He has ransacked his collection of old GrooveLily live videos, TV appearances, and now he’s even filmed and edited our recent Sleeping Beauty Wakes concert at McCarter. And he’s posted all of it here:

Rob Bond’s collection of GrooveLily videos at Vimeo.

It’s official. Rob is on fire. We cannot afford him. He gets the awesome award for 2009.

Having been a Petal Pusher for a whole lotta years, I’ve seen a lot of this material before but love having it available in one easy-to-get-at place like this. For me, the REALLY wonderful surprise was the Rarities folder where Rob has dug back to some of the earliest shows he attended (in 2000) and has found material I’ve never seen. He’s also got a number of songs there which never appeared on any Groovelily CD’s.
For relative newcomers to Groovelily or folks that haven’t managed to see them live very often, clear a nice big block of time from your schedule and dig in! This collection is a veritable treasure trove for GL fans by the inimitable and hugely generous Mr. Bond. Hats off to you, Rob (and to Terry and the kids for letting you spend that much time editting video)!

Brendan – Wow, it is kind of early in the year to be giving out the “awesome award”, but I’ll take it. Does this still come with the large cash award? :-)

David – Thanks for your comments too. Glad you find the Vimeo channels both entertaining and useful. Thanks for recognizing Terry and the kids; also thank the recent stretch of rainy days here in NJ! I am sure I will be posting more rarities as I uncover them in the process of converting the years of family home videos to DVD (which is often where some of the older GrooveLily recordings reside).

Finally, if you subscribe to a Vimeo channel you can receive automatic notifications when new content is added to the channel.

p.s. Be sure to check-out the description field for each video. There are sometimes little pieces of history buried in there.

    Rob,
Next time you do something like that, you should get in touch with me. I predate even you. :)

    Hey Kate,

Long time no hear. I hope all is well. I’m sure there are a lot of pre-2000 GrooveLily fans out there. If you have any videos you’d like to share – lets talk. The more the merrier!

Thanks Barry. I just added two more clips from Sleeping Beauty Wakes (i.e., “Bring It On” and “You Make Me Feel Awake”) which were inadvertently left off the Channel. The clips are in the same order as they are in the musical. Enjoy!
