…and we’re on our way.

Here’s the first demo Brendan and Val have released of a song from ERNEST SHACKLETON LOVES ME–it’s a tune Ernest has written for video-game composer Kat, and he sings it to her over the speaker phone. This demo consists of Brendan singing and playing fake banjo, fake violin, and fake everything, but the live performance will have Val’s prerecorded voice with British accent and live electric violin.

    Diggin’ it!

I’m sure I’m not the only one who hears a bit of Shannon… so, what would Shannon be like with some “fake banjo”…. hmmmmmm

As I told my brother Mark, Groovelily are musical heroes(& heroine)of mine–& I speak as a 35-year career musician. I’ve now seen Striking 12, which I loved, heard Sleeping Beaut, which I feel ups the ante, the new project sounds fascinating, & this sea chantey is deftly & delightfully done, just as I would’ve expected…I think Brendan sounds great on it, actually. Inspiration, thy name is Groovelily!

As it turns out, val’s voice on the song (and on all of ErnestLs dialogue) sounded creepy. So for the time being, we’re using my voice for Ernest. :)
