We are quite honored to be invited to take part in this high-profile event. Past “sneak peek” shows featured in this series have included Broadway hits AVENUE Q, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE and NEXT TO NORMAL; we’d be thrilled to follow in their footsteps.
The prospect of this exciting November 16 show, where we’ll play 3 songs from SLEEPING BEAUTY WAKES and hear “sneak peeks” from 4 other upcoming shows, has prompted Gene to remove his djembe from storage, so that we may present a slightly more “unplugged” version of the band. Our wonderful collaborator Rachel Sheinkin will be there with us as well to talk with the audience.

Broadway Close Up: Bound for Broadway with Liz Callaway
The 9th annual Bound for Broadway concert, hosted by Liz Callaway, will be something special. There are lots of surprises in store, plus sneak peeks at five new shows written by some of the most inspiring and adventurous writers in town. The shows include Sleeping Beauty Wakes, a musical about a woman with a mysterious sleeping disorder from Striking 12 writers Valerie Vigoda, Brendan Milburn and Tony winner Rachel Sheinkin; and Party Come Here, with a book by Daniel Goldfarb and score by composer/lyricist David Kirschenbaum. Past seasons offered sneak peeks at such shows as Avenue Q, The Drowsy Chaperone, Next to Normal, Vanities and High Fidelity. Don’t miss it!
This event is also part of a series, which includes our one NYC performance of STRIKING 12 this year: New Year’s Eve at 8 PM. See subscription info below, and come to Merkin Hall for a double dose of GrooveLily, November 16 & December 31.
