Great news about the Philly concert! One four-hour drive coming up! The Kimmel Center website does not seem to know about this event yet. Any idea when tickets will go on sale?
Hey guys,
Is this a GL “concert” or SBW or ??? (Wheelhaüs premier??)
-a
It’s just a regular concert, I think. (But those don’t happen very often, so I guess it’s not very “regular.”) More news soon.
We’re there! Looking to the Kimmel Center website — is this a fund raising event? Seems like tickets are $100 per with cocktails before and coffee and dessert after. Sounds like fun and we are thrilled to be seeing GL in concert again. While we’ll probably go for the whole megillah, there may be folks who just want tix to the concert. Is that an option?
Yesterday, the Kimmel Center listed this as part of a fundraiser (@ $100 per). Today, there’s no mention of GrooveLily, for May 19 or anywhere on their site.
Are we still too early, is the Kimmel Center website having hiccups, or que?
Well, I found the fundraiser link (go to the Kimmel homepage, and click on Val’s pic at top). It lists the show as part of a fundraiser for youth in music. We’re happy to support the music and band, but the price may be a bit steep for families (and others)?
From the Kimmel Center Patron Services:
“At this time the $100 Benefit tickets are all that are available. It is possible that in the future they may release some “Show Only” tickets for sale. If that were to happen it would be announced and on the Kimmel Center website at http://www.kimmelcenter.org . We do not have any indication at this time that this is going to happen though, so if you really want to attend, I would recommend purchasing the event ticket now. Also you may contact us at 215-893-1999 to check and see if we have any further information in the future.”
Seriously? The one actual concert this year?
Boo!
[We were planning to take the day off and drive down from upstate NY. But $400 on tickets.. maybe not
]
Folks, it’s looking like there will be more east coast concerts this year. Stay tuned.
I just checked the Kimmel Center site, and it looks like there are $20 tickets on sale now … not sure if this is new news or not. Have a look at:

Brendan/Val/Gene: if it’s possible to get any more info on potential additional concerts this year, that would *really* help. We *can* take off two days and drive the 12 hours with two small boys… but if you’re going to be closer to Albany at some point, we probably wouldn’t chose to
.
Thanks!
Note to Ewan (and GL): we’re driving down from Albany to see the show. The Capital District must be a hotbed of GrooveLily fans. They should come here!
Not to mention that some place like Caffe Lena, or the Linda, would be an ideal GL venue..
