Anyone who has seen Shrek I and II knows that references to fairy tales are HOT right now. Besides Striking 12 which is an obvious retelling of the Little Match Girl and other references to works by Hans Christian Anderson, I've found several other references to fairy tales in GL songs--

The Wizard of OZ--Live Through This(Are We There Yet?)--"We're not in Kansas anymore."

Rumplestiltskin--Making a Diamond--"like the man who could turn straw into gold"

I'm sure there are others. Anyone?

At least I demonstrated some restraint and didn't choose every possible color :-)

But now--back to my fairy tale analysis, please go to the Mirror-Image Poetry Form thread for a discussion of the Steven Sondheim/Brendan Milburn connection.
