I just wanted to try to post a message on the new website Discussion Board. Specifically, I wanted to see if new messages are still flagged, like on the old website... so that one is able to see that something new has been posted. I'm having a good time checking out the new website. It's looking very good. Thanks! --Ed |

Well... It doesn't seem like it generates a 'New Post Cookie', like the old website. So, Brendan, How are we supposed to know that a new message has been posted? --Ed |

Also... the Discussion Page user name and password are the same as on the old website... and not the same as was required by registering to post comments on the home page. This is not a major problem, but it's a little confusing. I'm hoping that someone else will figure out how to post comments on the home page, or on the Discussion Page. I'm feeling all alone here. --Ed |

Well... It does list the date and time of the last post. I didn't notice that at first. It just doesn't put the little check mark out front. --Ed |

Hey Ed, I changed the skin on the discussion board to one that has the "new" indicator ... I think it's closer to the look we had before. Lemme know what you think!

Also ... as for old usernames ... mine at least still seems to work, and the post count appears to be in tact ... is "Ed_mettee" the username you've always used? |

Hi Gene. I agree with Dave(Flo), those are some mighty bright colors you got there... but, it's nice to see the "new" indicator back again... and nice to see some action on the Discussion Board. Ed_mettee was the user name I always used on the Discussion Board, but when I registered so I could post comments on the blogs, I capitalized the 'M', as in Ed_Mettee. They assigned me a password for blog comments, which doesn't work for Discussion Board posts... plus. it's very unmanagable, so I copy-and-past it when I want to use that one. So, it appears that you are still the 'Web Master'. I have been e-mailing Brendan on some of the other new-site glitches. It's looking good. Keep up the good work. --Ed |

EXCELLENT! I like this color combination much better... and it's better coordinated with the soothing green tones of the rest of the new web site. Now, for a real challenge... try to figure out how to make the yellow 'highlighted' text passages of the previous posts, a different color... so they are readable. Maybe there's a command that you can give that will change all yellow text to blue. That's not really that important... but, it's an interesting challenge. ... and Where are all the other 'usual suspects' that used to frequent the Discussion Board? Thanks, Gene, for all your hard work. Good Job! --Ed |

Hey Gene! I just noticed something new on the home page. We can now "Demand It"... that is, request where we would like to see GrooveLily perform. That's pretty neat! Well, when I get to Murfreesboro, TN, I'll 'Demand' that they come to MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University) to perform. I'll start a little promotion campaign there. However, in the mean time, I would really love to see a higher resolution version of the 'Demand It' photo. It looks like Val is wearing a skirt... which doesn't seem to happen that often. The new web site is really getting exciting... but, Where are all the other 'posters'. I can't believe that you are doing all this work just for me! ... HA! FANTASTIC! --Ed |

OK... so, after finding the slightly bigger 'Demand It' Groovelily photo, I thought to myself... maybe there's one in the 'Press Kit' section. Sure enough... there was the cropped version of that photo, as well as several other new GrooveLily photos. However, when I right clicked it, and tried to 'save target as', nothing happened. I tried double left clicking it, and still nothing happened. I re-booted my computer, and tried again, with no success. However, I'm sure you will be solving this problem shortly, and I'll be able to download those lovely new photos of 'you all'... I'm practicing for my move to Tennessee. Thanks! --Ed |

Try a single click on the text link for each picture. That oughta do it. And be patient--it may take a moment to start the download. |

Hi Brendan, Well, I tried a single 'left' click, and waited... a single 'right' click, and waited. Nothing seems to happen on my computer. When I put the cursor on the '300 dpi' text, the arrow changes to a finger as long as the button is held down... but, nothing happens. They do look like great photos, and I'm sure that eventually I'll be able to download them. Thanks for your efforts. --Ed |

Hey Ed, Not sure if you're already doing this, but you need to click on the file name link (for example, "GLLeslieLyons01-300.jpg") to get the download. Also ... thanks for your props above, but I have to give credit where credit is due; Brendan and Val have been doing the lion's share of the work on the new site. I helped getting the discussion board and image gallery working on our new hosting provider, but they did almost everything else. Finally, as for previous post highlighting looking weird in the new color scheme, I'm afraid that's harder to fix, since the colors were hard-coded in the posts by industrious individuals like Rob Bond to look awesome in the old color scheme. Unfortunately, as you can see, "yellow" doesn't look so good in the new scheme. I'll see what I can do to get a bulk edit happening of the existing posts, but don't hold your breath. -Gene |

Hi Gene, Well, the Press Kit photo download function still does not work... at least, not on my computer. The cursor arrow never turns into a pointing finger, when it moves over the designated area : GLLeslieLyons03-300.jpg... So, unless I did something strange to my computer, it should be easy to confirm at that end. Now that Val has sent an e-mail to the Petal Pushers, perhaps someone else will venture onto the Discussion Board. They can check it out on their computers. Thanks for all your hard work... and Brendan's and Val's hard work. The new site is looking really good. Now if we could only get some other people to visit it. --Ed |

Hi Folks, I just kicking the tires myself. I found a few oddities concerning account consistency within the website that have been reported to the "authorities". Should there be a link somewhere on the site to report website related comments or concerns? --Rob |

Here's another one. The old Board had a Dancing Lily in the left pane that linked back to the main page. This is missing at the moment. Once in a discussion topic there is no direct link back to the Home page. --Rob |

Working on it, kids. Thanks for the notes, and please keep them coming. The best way (as of right now) to report website related comments and concerns is to do exactly what you're doing and email us. Thank you! |

Haha! Fixed the navigation problem. I think I'm going to quit music and go back to web design. Check your upper left-hand corner, and you ought to see a "Back to the GrooveLily Home Page" link.

Hi Bendan, Val & Gene'o Ed, Dave and of course Rob! I've been watching quietly in the wings as many others I'm sure and heard the call of Ed for others to participate. However, only now do I have a need to chime in and actually say something productive. BRENDAN (Web Guru) - THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER WEB GURU'S - that actually make a living doing this stuff. Enjoy your HOBBY but THERE IS ONLY ONE GrooveLily! - Don't even Joke about that...... Can't wait to see you again... Last fix was New Years Eve...... Oh yeah...My only new web site comment "what, no voice of an angel on the Into Page??" All the Best... Steve |

Hey Steve! Glad to see another GrooveLily fan on the Discussion Page. I was beginning to think this was my own private site... HA! Steve, would you check the Press Kit page, and let me know if you are able to download those lovely new photos? In my own non-technical lingo... the cursor arrow doesn't turn into a pointing finger, when you point at the appropriate spot. I just want to make sure that there is nothing strange happening with only my computer. Thanks to all, for a great new web site! --Ed |

Hi Ed, Well, here's the deal. I DO get the little finger when I fly over the actual link to the left of the photo, however, when I click on it I get an error page. If I right click on the link and "save as" I get a bling on my pc and then nothing. If I right click on the picture and "save as" I actually get the ability to save in a destination folder and it works fine. When I then goto open the view the picture from my saved folder it does open but not much larger that the actual photo on the page. If I try to enlarge it just gets blurry due to the resolution of the pic. Hope this helps. Time to leave the office. Annie and I are heading to Journey Concert tonight. Journey, Heart & Cheap Trick... Bummer...NO G/L..... V.B.G - We were at the Cape Cod Melody Tent last week and were reminiscing of the first time we saw G/L with Cindy.. Come back again soon.. Miss you! |

Thanks, Gene! I was beginning to think they had installed some form of 'Parental Control', and wouldn't let me download pictures of Val in a dress. It seems to work fine now. The photos are great! --Ed |

Hey Gene, I've noticed that the Archived Previous Gigs only go back to 6/25/05... whereas, the heading claims they go back to 2/8/01. I assume that this is just a matter of priorities, and that you'll fill in the rest as time permits. Of course, you could just change the heading at the top of the page. --Ed |

Hi Ed, I just had a look and seems like everything is there ... not sure if it was a momentary glitch, something with your setup, or the remaining gigs suddenly being uploaded, but it looks ok to me.

Well...? This is strange. I just looked, and the last gig listed is: Saturday, June 25, 2005 Columbia, MD Panzer House Concert 10684 Quarterstaff Road 7 pm Then, there is a little notch in the light green background on the right side, followed by the list of pages, links, etc. So, I'm confused. --Ed |
