Just wanted to let you folks know how much we enjoyed your show at the The Loft in Lincoln. Talent, personality, quality work. Great combination. Appreciated the opportunity to experience what some may take for granted. We wish you all the best and please return or at least get close. PS. Really do wish better accoustics were present at this venue to compliment and showcase your work. |

Hi Larry, This is Marcia from Kansas who had the privilege of seeing GrooveLily several days after you. Since it's a long drive out to the midwest from New York, I figure our chances are better to get GrooveLily to come out if we have several gigs for them relatively close by. I've suggested several Kansas (mostly Wichita) venues to the band and if there were some Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois (Chicago?) Indiana, Ohio venues in a decent time frame we might have a shot. On the bottom right hand column of the home page is a link for suggesting venues. Their booking agent will send out a packet of information about the band if it looks like the venue might work out. I'm glad to see the roster of Midwestern fans is growing! Why should the East and West Coasts have all the luck, huh? Marcia |

Hey Marcia, Glad to hear others were able to catch GrooveLily while they were in the area. I am curious about the average crowd they've performed for throughout the country. Might be helpful to know when considering new venues to make them aware of. Here in Lincoln, the room for our show was very small but crowded. I figure the count was around 200. Where in Kansas did you see them? How large was the location and did they draw well? Larry |

GrooveLily was at the Old Settler's Inn in Moundridge, KS which was sold out several weeks before the show. I think there were around 100 people packed into a very small space. GL had been part of the Artist's Series at the Old Settler's Inn the year before and seemed to have quite a few repeat fans. Our public radio station--KMUW--taped the show and that's where I initially heard GrooveLily's music--on their broadcast. How about you? How did you find out about them? I would really like them to come to a bigger, nicer venue in Wichita sometime in the next year. I've sent out several inquiries and sent probably a half dozen venue possibilies to the band. But let's face reality--they won't drive halfway across the country unless they have several (5? 7?) different stops along the way. I have heard they they go to Colorado sometimes and we're on the way to there! Wichita is only an hour and a half south of I-70. In fact--there could be an "I-70: GrooveLily Conquers the Heartland of America" Tour! Marcia |

Marcia, I originally heard of GrooveLily from a friend but had not heard any of their music until just before the recent show in Lincoln. At that time, I figured I should check out their website and learn a little more about them. Fortunately, I was able to hear their tunes on the site also. Lincoln has a couple very nice locations, the Lied Center and the Rococco Theater, where a GrooveLily show would be fantastic. I am not sure what the chances are a gig could be arranged at these spots though. Larry |

Larry--I just saw on the gigs page that GL is coming back to Nebraska in September. The Fam Fest in Aurora, NE on September 17. I'm hoping Aurora is in Southern Nebraska? |

OK--this one's for V/B/G (Rob, shouldn't that be Paul/John/Ringo?) Anyway, I'm getting all hepped about the potential "Heartland Tour" when I see on the gigs page: Friday, September 17, 2004 Aurora, NE FAM Fest Saturday, September 18, 2004 Westfield, NJ First United Methodist Church of Westfield Nebraska one day and New Jersey the next? I take it you're going to fly? What about your equipment? the Viper? Probably packable. Keyboard? Not impossible. Must be renting the drums? Marcia---->seeing Heartland Tour fantasy fade into the sunset.

Yes Marcia ... you're right ... it's a one-off show; flying in, using gear that the festival is renting for us, and then zipping out the next day for a gig in NJ. Ahhh the glamour.
See you there! -Gene |

Marcia, >(Rob, shouldn't that be Paul/John/Ringo?) Well, one could certainly argue that it should be Paul/John/Ringo, but I prefer to think that Gene's song writing strengths are closer to those of the late Mr. Harrison and those of Mr. Starr/Starkey. Either way though, the band is in good company. ---Rob |

Marcia, I'm sorry I didn't answer earlier. I've been out of touch lately. By now, I'm sure you've found out Aurora, Ne is approx. 30 minutes west of Lincoln. I hadn't checked the gigs page for a while so this was a pleasant surprise for me. Am looking forward to taking in the show. I've, personally, never heard of the FAM FEST so do you know if it is an outdoor or indoor show? If you don't, how about anyone else on this board? Gene? Thanks, Larry |

Hey Larry ... not sure, but I *think* it's an outdoor show. More details will be posted on the gigs page once we know. Thanks! -Gene |

Well, the weather will probably be terrible and no one will show! However, if you were to come back down south where the weather is always beautiful, then we could see you. Just kidding, midwesterners! I'm just having a GrooveLily jones and the future is pretty bleak for a concert in these parts. dave |

Here's hoping it will be an outdoor show and with fantastic weather. I guess I'll have to call in all my markers to ensure the weather part. I'm going to look into the venue planned for the show and see what I can find out. Don't worry, if it's outdoors, we'll have all the cow pies picked so those of you attending will be able to enjoy the show wihout any distractions. Larry |
