Just as a heads-up to anyone going to the show, the Gigs page lists the ticket price for this event as $19 but the Sellersville page says tickets are $21.50 and a footnote adds that "we'll also soak you for an extra $4.50 rape-and-pillage charge on each ticket" OK, it doesn't quite say that but the truth of the matter is it looks like it'll cost $26 rather $19 to get in...not that Groovelily isn't worth it...I just wish theaters would tell the truth about their ticket prices --David |

The Gigs page appears to have been corrected, and despite the $26 actual cost, I'll be there. Anyone else out there going? Do you want to meet early for dinner at the Washington House? Jim? Meg? Peter? Bev? Diane? Adam? Rob? Bueller? Bueller? ... Anyone? --Ed |

Looks like I can't make the show tonight. I have 2 extra tickets at a front row cabaret table. Any takers... I'll even give them away just to fill the seats! Jon |

Thanks to Brian W., my tickets got used be newbies who, by the end of the show, turned into fans. I'm disappointed I couldn't make it, but nevertheless am glad the tickets proved useful and converted 2 attendees into fans! |

Hey John... I'll do my best to remember at least some of the songs played at the Sellersville show... but, at my age, the mind starts to go. Let me state that the performance was fantastic, despite some problems the band encountered in trying to get there. Their van had some mechanical problems in VA, and at the last minute, they had to rent a Jeep to get to Sellersville. In the hast to transfer the equipment, some of Gene's drum equipment got left behind. Gene was able to rent some locally, and get set up in the nick of time. I believe the opening number was 'When I Dream', from their Midsummernight's Dream score. This is a great number, and certainly a favorite new song. I should have taken notes, but didn't. I know they did a few songs from Wheelhouse, and Striking 12, but they included many of our favorite songs from their CDs, including: 'Weight of the World', 'No Room in Your Bag', 'Looking Forward-Looking Back', Apocalyptic Love Song, with an extended "post part", and several others. It was a very nice mixture of the show tunes, and the pop tunes. One of the funniest, yet serious new songs was one they have written for a children's CD to be put out by the "Hooked on Phonics" folks. It was entitled '18-19-20', and consisted entirely of counting musically from 1 to 20. We all knew the words by the second verse... second verse-same as the first... 1-2-3-4-5, etc. to 18-19-20. I believe the encore was 'Sitting on the Fence', and a great performance it was. Sorry you missed it. Look for 'Striking 12' off Broadway this year. Details should be announced soon. --Ed |

We were away on vacation and couldn't make this show. How full a house did the band draw? Audience reactions (outside of Petal Pushers')? |

Hello everybody (it's my first post on this forum), I was at the Arlington County Fair for the "Paul and StormLily" show on Aug 17. Apart from backing up Paul and Storm, they played four GrooveLily songs, including '18-19-20', but that was my least favorite of the four. That's because the other songs were "Try Again", "Apocalyptic Love Song" (with a pre- bit as well as post-), and "Happy, Happy, Happy". During this song, Paul & Storm not only joined in chorus but started dancing around in an exaggerated humorous fashion, including one stretch when they both stood behind Brendan and stuck their arms out over and around him. Brendan was having a very hard time trying to keep a straight face. Anyway, all three members of GrooveLily are featured in various tracks on Paul & Storm's "Opening Band" CD, so some of you might be interested. It's not their usual style of music, but there are some GrooveLily phrasings here and there... |

I was at the Sellersville show, first time seeing the band. Not a huge crowd, probably lots on vacation this time of year. Great show! Nice meeting you after the show and thanks for signing my CD. You've got a new fan here in Perkasie PA. Look forward to seeing you again. Andrew |
