This is going to be alarmingly fun. If any GrooveLily fans are willing to make the trek into NYC, Val and I are writing the music and lyrics to a ten-minute movie musical, and all three GrooveLily members are playing on the soundtrack.

If early drafts are any indication, this is going to be a remarkably fun evening of six short films that went from conception to completion in sixteen days. I HIGHLY recommend you come, and I also recommend you get your tickets soon--all four shows are going to sell out; it's just a question of when.

Hope to see you there!

Well, I didn't MEAN to play hookie to go to this show but I realized about 30 seconds after paying for my ticket that I have a conflict for the Monday night (8pm) show...oh, well...Guess I'll just have to go to RIPFest!

I have to keep this really brief but for those of you who are able to make it to NYC tonight, it's well worth the effort to catch the RIPFest films. It's no surprise that the Groovelily segment has far-and-away the best-sounding soundtrack but what was a bit of a surprise to me, never having been to a RIPFest before, is how wonderfully inventive, occasionally wacky and just plain fun ALL these short films are. Some of them also show remarkable production values given that everything, from initial conception to final product was done in 16 days.
I'll try to write more about it later but if you happen to be sitting on the fence (sorry...couldn't resist ) about this one, DON'T HESITATE! Go to this show (and spend the extra $5 for the after-screening party as well!).

Sorry, Marcia...I'm running off to the airport in a couple of hours (leaving for vacation) and don't have time to elaborate on what I said above...maybe when I get back!

Pete? Gen? Wanna throw your 2 cents in here?

VBG? Wanna comment from your perspective?

Wow ... Rich and I just got back from an encore evening of RIPFEST #4. What a great showcase of talent ... especially for Val and Brendan. The 6 ten minute films, all in the musical theater genre, all revolved around the theme of broken promises. Very clever and fun. So glad that we got to see it ... along with Val's mom and dad!

Jodi--or anyone-- Can you tell us something about the plot/music/visuals of this 10 minute movie musical?
