Thanks for your interest in Petal Pushers! PPs are the GrooveLily street team, a community that started back in October 2001; there are over 250 members, ranging in age from 10 to 65, throughout the US and Canada. In the past, PPs have done things like: put up posters and flyers, request us on the radio, have parties, come to GL shows for free, and get married to each other.
We highly encourage all of this behavior. Although we are not touring right now as much as we used to, we do reserve the right to start playing 400 shows a year at any time…and really appreciate having your info in reserve, so that if and when we do come to your town we can call on you. Meanwhile, there are lots of things Petal Pushers can do online, and benefits you can receive:

- do something creative. Anything. Be crazy. Have fun. There are people out there making mashups and Japanese anime videos of our music…there are people writing essays and stories inspired by our songs, animating “Striking 12″ characters in 3-D, making illustrated poetry inspired by our lyrics, creating stuffed GrooveLily action figures, and drawing cartoons of us at our instruments. The possibilities are endless; use our art and make your own! Anything goes, as long as you aren’t selling our songs and making money from it.
- be an ambassador for the band anywhere and any way that works for you. The PP community is a diverse group: young, old, outgoing, introverted, tech-savvy, computer-shy…there is something ineffable that connects all avid GrooveLily listeners but we don’t know exactly what that is. What we do know is that we are delighted to have you be the GL expert in your own crowd, and that Petal Pushers will welcome you in posts, in discussion groups and everywhere else. (Who knows? Maybe you’ll find your future spouse.)
- we are still doing SOME touring, so if we come to your area our Petal Pusher Coordinator, Rob Bond, will be sure to contact you about doing some pre-show promo in exchange for free tickets to the show.
- encourage us to come to you! We’ve recently joined Eventful, a site where you can “demand” that your favorite performers play in your town; when we reach critical mass in your area, we’ll plan a show. Demand us here, on the right sidebar of our site.
